King David of the Bible was NOT great because he was a King, but because he was a man after God’s own heart. He was faithful to God, to His Word and to His work. King David did NOT seek out to be a King, he did not pursue to be elevated, popular, successful or wealthy. He was faithful in being a little shepherd boy, tending to stinky sheep.
May we all follow the great King David’s example: be faithful to God, obey His Word, fulfill His work, serve Him wholeheartedly wherever He has us, and pursue the heart of God, so that we too may hear our Savior say, “WELL DONE my good and faithful servant…enter in”. Matthew 25:21
