10 Prayers Every Bible Thinking Woman Prays

Have you ever asked yourself if you’re praying the right prayers? Wondering if your prayers are actually being heard by God? I’ve been there. It’s good for us to examine our prayer life, considering that there are some prayers that God doesn’t listen to or answer. (John 9:31; Isaiah 59:2)

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures” James 4:3

As Bible thinking women, we want to have our prayers heard and answered. Our desire is to have prayers that are biblical, rooted in Scripture, so we can be assured that God will answer us.

Here are 10 prayers every Bible thinking woman prays:

Lord, I pray that I love you with all my heart, soul and mind. That You are the first priority in my life.

“And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” Matthew 22:37

Lord, I pray that I will live for You and Your glory. May everything I do glorify You.

“Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Lord, may my desire to be obedient and pleasing to You, outweigh my fear of and approval from people.

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” John 14:15

“For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ” Galatians 1:10

Lord, I pray that you will give me a desire for Your Word. A desire for the truth found in Your Word.

“They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb” Psalms 19:10

“ Sanctify them in truth; Your Word is truth” John 17:17

Lord, I pray that I am a doer of Your Word, not just a mere hearer.

“But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves” James 1:22

Lord, I pray for boldness. That I am unashamed of the Gospel. That I never deny, hide or am embarrassed of my relationship with Christ.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” Romans 1:16

“If we endure, we will also reign with Him;If we deny Him, He also will deny us;” 2 Timothy 2:12

Lord, may I deny myself, pick up my cross and follow You. May I count it a privilege to be Your disciple and suffer for Your name sake. May I be willing to forsake all earthly comforts to follow You.

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me” Matthew 16:24

“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” Matthew 5:10-11

Lord, may I not love this world or the things in it. May I saturate my heart and mind with Your Word, so that I won’t succumb to the temptations and ungodliness of this world.

“Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him” 1 John 2:15

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” Romans 12:2

Lord, may I seek after and be filled with godly wisdom, that result in me making good decisions that glorify You in every area of my life.

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him” James 1:5

“For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding” Proverbs 2:6

Lord, may I continue to abide in You and Your Word in me. For apart from You, I can do nothing.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” John 15:4-5

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” John 15:7
